In this role, you will be responsible for providing world-class and memorable services to our members through expertise both on and off the pickleball courts. Ensuring that we exceed the membership needs by having well-planned and well-run events, lessons, reservations, and provide information, merchandise and services that exceed their expectations. Coordinate all facets of the pickleball program and assist in any way that best serves our members and teammates at Desert Mountain.

The ideal candidate will be highly engaging, outgoing, energetic, t eam player, and have a can-do spirit. Must have a minimum of3 years of teaching experience, and the availability to work year-round.Pickleball teaching and programming experience required.High-end resort/country club experience, preferred.

  • PPR and/or RSPA certification required.
  • Must have a valid Driver’s License.

JOB DETAILS

Responsibilities:

On Court:

  • Administer or participate in all sessions of Drop In Play throughout the week to include, but not limited to, Women's, Men's, and Mixed Drop In Play.
  • Oversee the instruction of clinics for men, woman, and juniors.
  • Organize and lead pickleball lessons throughout the summer and holiday season.
  • Develop and shape the pickleball game.
  • Performs private, group lessons, and clinics upon request.
  • Facilitate drop-in and round-robins as assigned.
  • Plan and run pickleball leagues and events at Desert Mountain.
  • Maintain current and up to date knowledge in teaching methods and styles.
  • Maintain current knowledge of paddles, balls, and courts, including construction and materials.

Off Court:

  • Visible and actively engages Members to grow participation and share Desert Mountain updates.
  • Consistently improve the recurrent events and interact with other departments functional to those events' success.
  • Works as a Shop Assistant, aiding in all facets of work related to the Sonoran Shop, when needed.
  • Introduces new events into the pickleball program that providing a greater opportunity for members to participate in and enjoy the game, leagues, ladders, interclub, and intraclub events.
  • Perform all assigned administrative duties to include maintaining record of players' performance, rankings, and DUPR ratings.
  • Develops appropriate signage and communications for pickleball events and activities to improve member awareness and recognition of the program.
  • Promote events, clinics, leagues, and activities by calling, texting, and communicating to our members.
  • Use club software in booking courts, scheduling events, lessons, and clinics.
  • Be available to the members to promote the pickleball program.
  • Assists in the set-up of the ball machine.
  • Assist in all facets of work related to the Sonoran Shop, when needed.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director of Racquet Sports

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:

  • Required to stand and walk – Constantly
  • Required to reach, stoop, and kneel – Frequently
  • Required to push and/or pull, and lift and/or move up to 35 pounds – Frequently
  • Required to be on feet for long periods of time.
  • Considerable consecutive hours outside in very physical environment with varying conditions.
  • Exposed to extreme temperatures and inclement weather – Occasionally
  • Required to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
