Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Manager of Workforce Health & Safety to lead a regional program, directing a team of professionals and coordinating with Occupational Health partners. The role emphasizes safety leadership, data analysis, and program improvement across a designated geographic area.

The position requires a strong background in occupational health, extensive project experience, and the ability to drive policy updates while maintaining budgets and stakeholder relationships.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or comparable experience in occupational/environmental health or related field.
• 7–10 years progressive, relevant work experience.
• Ability to effectively manage a team and lead multidisciplinary groups.
• Strong analytical and persuasive leadership skills.
• Experience organizing, planning, and executing large projects from concept to implementation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to present to groups.

Responsibilities

• Supports overall Workforce Health and Safety for the system, collaborating with senior leaders and regional managers.
• Uses an analytical framework to measure and report on key Health & Safety metrics.
• Oversees SafetyNet and third‑party programmers to ensure timely enhancements within budget.
• Identifies and executes complex system‑level projects to enhance the program.
• Coordinates with Occupational Health partners to improve processes and coordinate clinics and budget transfers.
• Provides manager oversight during integration of programs for acquired or merged entities.
• Leads a team of professionals to support Northwestern Medicine objectives across regions.
• Manages resources and budgets to support organizational priorities and policy updates.
