Job summary

The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine is seeking a Director of Clinical Skills to lead the Veterinary Clinical Skills Program. This teaching-intensive role combines program leadership, administration and hands-on instruction across the DVM preclinical curriculum.

The successful candidate will advance excellence in teaching, learning and assessment of clinical skills in simulated and live-animal environments, with opportunities to shape curriculum and educational scholarship.

Qualifications

• DVM or equivalent veterinary degree
• Experience in clinical veterinary practice
• Strong commitment to excellence in veterinary education
• Demonstrated leadership, collaboration and effective communication

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership, administration and strategic direction for the Veterinary Skills Program
• Teach extensively in clinical and professional skills sessions with DVM students
• Design, implement and assess hands-on clinical and professional skills instruction
• Organize and manage labs, skills-based assessments and simulation-based learning
• Develop online instructional materials to support skills instruction
• Ensure policy standardization across preclinical years in the Clinical Skills curriculum
• Mentor remediation plans for students in Clinical Skills
