Job Title: Head Of Vendor Management

Location: Remote (Global) | Headquarters: Baltimore, MD

Reports to: Chief Product & Technology Officer

Employment Type: Full-Time

Role Summary

Prometric is seeking a dynamic Head of Vendor Management to lead the integration and lifecycle management of third-party products within our global assessment and learning portfolio. This individual will be responsible for evaluating, onboarding, and managing third-party technologies and content providers that enhance our solutions for clients and candidates.

This role requires a strong balance of product strategy, commercial acumen, contract negotiation, and vendor relationship management.

Key Responsibilities

Product & Vendor Strategy



  • Define and execute the third-party product strategy aligned with Prometric’s global roadmap.



  • Identify opportunities to partner with or license external products to enhance our offerings.



  • Own the go/no-go process for new third-party products.

Vendor Management & Negotiation



  • Lead end-to-end vendor management: RFI/RFP processes, evaluation, onboarding, and performance reviews.



  • Negotiate commercial terms, licensing, pricing, exclusivity, and SLAs with Legal and Finance support.



  • Manage ongoing relationships and hold vendors accountable to performance metrics and milestones.

Requirements & Specification Development



  • Collaborate with product, technology, sales, and legal teams to translate business needs into product and technical requirements.



  • Define functional specifications and ensure third-party solutions meet data, security, and interoperability standards.

Delivery & Integration



  • Partner with Engineering, Product Owners, and Implementation teams to integrate third-party solutions into Prometric’s platforms.



  • Own the product lifecycle—from onboarding to deprecation—of all externally sourced solutions.

Commercial & Financial Ownership



  • Work closely with Finance and Commercial teams to define product pricing, usage models, and ROI targets.



  • Monitor product performance, usage, cost, and margins for all third-party relationships.

Key Deliverables



  • Signed commercial contracts and licensing agreements.



  • Product requirement documents and integration specifications.



  • Vendor performance dashboards and QBR materials.



  • Product roadmap and value proposition decks for internal and external stakeholders.



  • Pricing models and cost analysis reports.



  • Integration timelines and go-live readiness plans.

Qualifications



  • 7+ years of experience in Product Management, Strategic Partnerships, or Vendor Management.



  • Proven success in negotiating contracts and managing third-party technology products.



  • Strong knowledge of software integration, licensing models, and SaaS/EdTech ecosystems.



  • Experience working in complex, matrixed, global organizations.



  • Exceptional communication, cross-functional collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.



  • Experience in Education, Assessment, or Learning Technology industries preferred.

Skills & Competencies



  • Strategic thinking and commercial fluency.



  • Contract structuring and pricing model development.



  • Technical understanding of APIs, data security, and interoperability.



  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity and fast-paced environments.



  • High attention to detail, with a bias toward execution.
