Job summary

Tether is seeking a Head of Underwriting to lead underwriting activities across Digital Asset Financing. This senior, hands-on role requires deep financial and credit analysis, strong counterparty risk assessment, and the ability to balance commercial objectives with prudent risk controls.

You will evaluate opportunities, structure transactions, and present clear recommendations to senior stakeholders in a fast-paced, international environment.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of relevant underwriting or credit risk experience.
• Strong expertise in financial analysis and loan structuring.
• Knowledge of BTC/ETC collateral custody and transfers.
• Understanding margin mechanics and LTV thresholds.
• Experience with counterparty due diligence.
• Ability to monitor risk and margin calls.
• Strong communication with senior decision makers.
• Ability to operate in fast-paced international environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead underwriting across Digital Asset Financing, assessing opportunities from due diligence to approval recommendations.
• Analyse counterparty financials, liquidity, leverage, trading strategy and creditworthiness.
• Evaluate digital asset collateral, collateral coverage, liquidity risks and liquidation triggers.
• Assess operational and custodial setup of counterparties.
• Structure terms including LTV, tenor, covenants and margins.
• Identify and assess counterparty, market, concentration and operational risks.
• Prepare evidence-based underwriting assessments and present to decision-makers.
• Monitor exposures and propose mitigation measures.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure efficient transaction execution.
• Continuously enhance underwriting methodologies to evolving digital asset markets.
