Job summary

Roamly, the insurtech arm of The Ride Platform, Inc., is hiring a Director of Underwriting and Actuarial to lead underwriting and actuarial pricing, shape product strategy, and drive portfolio analytics for profitability.

Collaborate with Sales, Engineering and Product to develop innovative insurance offerings with carrier partners; preference for Austin, TX or San Francisco, CA, with remote options for qualified candidates.

Qualifications

• Over 10 years of underwriting/actuarial experience, with leadership preferred.
• Strong actuarial background with pricing, loss cost modeling, and risk assessment.
• Experience in insurtech or embedded insurance is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead underwriting strategy for Roamly’s products.
• Oversee actuarial pricing, portfolio analytics, and loss cost modeling.
• Develop and refine pricing strategies using actuarial analysis.
• Partner with Sales, Engineering, and Product to develop carrier-aligned insurance offerings.
• Establish underwriting guidelines and pricing models to drive profitable growth.
• Engage with carrier partners on risk appetite and product development.
• Monitor KPIs for underwriting performance and profitability.
