Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Science with substantial relevant experience.
• Master's Degree or PhD preferred for higher levels.
• Experience leading programs and multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership to advance research and engineering capabilities.
• Lead programs and multidisciplinary teams with external stakeholders.
• Manage departmental resources with USO leadership and Project Managers.
• Recruit, mentor, and evaluate staff across engineering, research, and student staff.
• Lead experiment-driven R&D to deliver innovative solutions for sponsors and national security missions.
• Plan, staff, and execute programs aligned with goals and customer needs.
• Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and growth in emerging technologies and opportunities.
• Lead small to medium teams from concept to prototype demonstrations in relevant environments.
• Develop and maintain relationships with sponsors and external organizations.
