Job summary

Douglas County, GA seeks a senior leader to oversee the Transit Services Division, including Connect Douglas fixed routes, paratransit, and multi-modal operations. You will manage budgets, staff, and compliance with federal and state requirements, coordinating with regional partners to advance transportation initiatives.

The role supports transit planning, demand management, and the agency safety plan, while integrating services to provide safe, efficient transportation across the county.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Planning, Transportation, Engineering, Public Administration or related field.
• Five years of professional experience in the field, with at least two years in supervision.
• AICP certification preferred or other related professional certifications.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Manage all business and operational aspects of the Transit Department, including personnel oversight and financial administration.
• Oversee staffing, scheduling, and supervision for all Transit Services operations.
• Direct development of the annual budget and maintain financial control of expenditures, revenues, and grants.
• Lead maintenance and stewardship of transit facilities, vehicles, assets, and equipment.
• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and regional transit requirements and administer the Drug and Alcohol Program.
• Lead preparation for federal oversight reviews and manage grant opportunities with FTA, GDOT, and others.
• Prepare and deliver reports, presentations, and data submissions for stakeholders.
