Job summary

Bausch + Lomb is seeking the Head of Technology, Digital Health Services, to establish the architecture for AI-driven patient education tools across the eye care continuum. You will be the first technical hire and will set the engineering culture, select partners, and ensure secure, scalable systems from day one.

You will lead architecture, data governance, and regulatory readiness in a clinical environment, balancing speed with long-term defensibility while collaborating with product leadership.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software engineering experience in senior technical leadership roles.
• Experience in AI/ML systems in production with governance.
• Strong cloud architecture and API design skills.
• Background in healthcare tech and regulated environments.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end technical architecture including cloud, AI/ML, data platform, security, and scalability.
• Evaluate build vs. buy vs. partner for core tech components and manage initial external partner.
• Architect for EHR interoperability and HL7 FHIR compliance from day one.
• Design patient-facing architecture scalable for eye care continuum.
• Own data governance, HIPAA compliance, audit logging, and access controls.
