Job summary

UnitedHealthcare is seeking a National Medical Director of Surgical Clinical Programs to design, develop and oversee clinical specialty programs that improve affordability and quality of care in general surgery, minimally invasive, and endoscopy. Qualifications

• MD or DO with active/unrestricted medical license in one or more states.
• Board certified in General Surgery or related surgical specialty.
• 10+ years of clinical practice experience.
• 7+ years of progressive healthcare leadership experience.
• 5+ years of senior management experience in clinical operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead clinical strategy for surgical programs across general surgery, minimally invasive, endoscopy, and robotics.
• Oversee site-of-care strategy and utilization management modernization.
• Direct healthcare analytics efforts and evaluate data to guide program design.
• Communicate clinical strategy to executives and external stakeholders.
• Collaborate across clinical, network, operations and IT teams to scale value-based programs.
