Job summary

Public Services Delivery Scotland (PSD Scotland) is seeking a skilled Head of Supply Chain Analytics & Planning to lead analytics, forecasting and performance insight for SNBTS. The role reports to the Strategy, Planning & Performance Directorate and drives data‑driven decision making across supply, demand and capacity.

The post requires a degree or equivalent with postgraduate qualification, and a collaborative leader able to work across teams. Hybrid working and UK residency are expected.

  • Strong capability in data analysis, interpretation and insight generation.
  • Experience of developing tools, models or reporting systems to support decision‑making.

  • A collaborative approach, with experience of working across teams and functions.

Job description

On 1 April 2026, NHS National Services Scotland (NSS) and NHS Education for Scotland (NES) became one national organisation, focused on continuity today and a stronger, more connected service for tomorrow.

As part of this transformation, NSS and NES have joined to form a new organisation: Public Services Delivery Scotland (PSD Scotland). This new organisation will play a pivotal role in supporting the renewal and ensuring the long‑term sustainability of health and care services across Scotland.

About The Organisation

PSD Scotland unites expertise from NES and NSS in a way that will allow us to accelerate national programmes to support the NHS to deliver better care, now and in the future.

We support staff with education and training, provide the tools and data that improve services, and run vital national functions such as procurement, logistics and blood, tissue and cell services.

The Post

We are looking for a skilled and forward‑thinking professional to join the Scottish National Blood Transfusion Service (SNBTS) as Head of Supply Chain Analytics & Planning.

This is a key role within the Strategy, Planning & Performance Directorate, with responsibility for developing and delivering supply chain analytics, planning and performance insight to support decision‑making across SNBTS. The postholder will ensure that robust data, forecasting and analytical tools underpin the effective management of supply, demand and operational capacity across the service.

Working across organisational boundaries, the role supports the delivery of safe, effective and sustainable services by strengthening the use of data and insight in both strategic and operational decision‑making.

The Candidate

To fulfil this challenging and varied role you will need to be educated to degree level or equivalent with relevant post graduate qualification. You will bring a strong combination of analytical expertise and practical experience of working in complex systems. You will have:

  • Experience of developing tools, models or reporting systems to support decision‑making

Location and Working Pattern

The post will be located at the Jack Copland Centre in Edinburgh

A hybrid model of working is currently in place

The work pattern is Monday to Friday, 36 hours per week

It is a condition of this employment that you must live and remain a resident within the UK and have entitlement to work in the UK for the post in which you will be employed.
