Job summary

NHS Lanarkshire is seeking an organised administrator to support daily operational tasks within the Primary Care Screening Services Department. The role involves processing, scanning, and filing mail, referrals, and health forms with strict adherence to GDPR and patient confidentiality.

You will support the wider Primary Care Department as required. Typical pattern is Monday to Friday, with a focus on accuracy and timely handling of sensitive information.

Qualifications

  • SVQ III in administration or equivalent knowledge and experience to that level.
  • Significant Admin experience in a busy working environment is essential.
  • Good standard of English and communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Experienced with all MS Office software.
  • A driving licence is required; this must be a full UK/EU/EEA licence.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the office areas are secure and confidential papers are locked away at the end of each day.
  • Assist administrative/data processing tasks for Child Health, SIRS, SCCRS, AAA and Pre School Vision and local immunisation programmes.
  • Contact local IT Helpdesk and ATOS Origin for system problems.
  • Take ownership of and progress queries from various sources and resolve issues.

The Role

To support the daily operational administrative/data processing tasks while working across multiple screening programmes within the Primary Care Screening Services Department. The postholder ensures the timely processing, scanning, and filing of mail, referrals, and health/immunisation forms, while strictly adhering to safe information handling, GDPR, and patient confidentiality protocols. The postholder will also provide support to the wider Primary Care Department as and when required. The working pattern for this role is Monday to Friday.

In This Key Role, You Will
  • Ensure the office areas are secure and that all confidential papers are locked away securely at the end of each working day. This also includes ensuring that files are stored/filed away appropriately and that any old patient identifiable information that is no longer required, is destroyed appropriately and in line with GDPR protocols.
  • Assist in the administrative/data processing tasks associated with Child Health, SIRS, SCCRS, AAA and Pre School Vision and local immunisation programmes.
  • Responsible for contacting local IT Helpdesk and ATOS Origin in relation to any system(s) problems.
  • Take ownership of and progress queries received from various sources. The postholder will seek to resolve any problems.
