Job summary

Qalam Seminary is seeking a Head of Student Services to lead the student experience outside the classroom, reporting to the Associate Director. The role oversees the student services team, ensuring students are supported and well-being is prioritized.

The Head will work with academic and enrollment teams to provide cohesive services, maintain records, and develop policies. A Bachelor's degree is required, and experience in a seminary or higher education setting is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree is required; Master's degree preferred for deeper leadership in student services.
• Several years of experience in student services or student affairs, with leadership.
• Experience managing a team and overseeing student-facing programs.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills are essential.
• Ability to handle sensitive student matters with care and discretion.
• Comfort working in a faith-based or mission-driven educational environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day leadership and management of the student services team and its functions.
• Oversee student support services, including advising, wellbeing resources, and general student welfare.
• Develop, maintain, and enforce student services policies and procedures.
• Serve as a primary point of contact for student concerns, questions, and needs, ensuring timely and appropriate resolution.
• Coordinate student life programming and activities that support community and engagement.
• Monitor student satisfaction and identify opportunities to improve the overall student experience.
• Collaborate with academic affairs and enrollment teams to ensure consistent communication and support across the student lifecycle.
• Maintain accurate records of student services activity, cases, and outcomes.
• Escalate significant student concerns or disciplinary matters as needed.
• Prepare regular reports on student services performance and operations.
