Job summary

Thuma’s Director of Retail Development leads end-to-end store development from site evaluation through opening, shaping a scalable program for 8+ active projects. You will manage design, permitting, construction, and handover, building a high-performing team and vendor bench.

The role collaborates with Real Estate, Legal, Retail Operations, Brand, Creative, and IT, reporting to the Senior Director of Retail Expansion. Candidates should be able to work in person at our San Francisco HQ.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in retail construction, store development, or store planning.
• 5+ years leading a team or a function.
• Track record delivering multiple retail buildouts on time and on budget.

Responsibilities

• Own the development program end to end: set master schedule and manage partners.
• Lead design, documentation, and permitting across jurisdictions.
• Own construction delivery from bid to closeout with GC partners and vendors.
• Maintain store standards and support refreshes across the fleet.
