Job summary

Thuma is seeking a strategic, highly creative Director of Visual Merchandising to bring our merchandising strategy to life across our retail portfolio.

This role translates product priorities into compelling environments, integrating merchandising with space planning, storytelling, store operations, and customer experience across multiple locations. Expect ownership of floor plans, visual standards, and cross-functional leadership to elevate the Thuma brand in-store.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of progressive experience in visual merchandising, retail design, space planning, or a related discipline within a design-led retail environment.

Responsibilities

• Translate merchandising strategy into floor plans, product adjacencies, visual presentations, and compelling product stories.
• Create elevated, warm and unmistakably Thuma environments while adapting to each store’s architecture, market, and customer.
• Develop visual standards for space planning, product placement, signage, lighting, replenishment, and daily recovery.
• Own store layouts, capacity plans, and vignette development using 2D plans, 3D visualizations, mockups, and technical drawings.
• Use sales, productivity, customer behavior, and inventory insights to improve layouts, density, and space productivity.
• Establish floor-set calendars, installation plans, and communication tools for clear, fast execution.
• Lead visual execution of new stores, remodels, launches, seasonal updates, and activations.
• Partner cross-functionally with Merchandising, Product, Retail, Brand, Creative, Store Design, Planning, Supply Chain, and Operations.
