Job summary
Airwallex in San Francisco is seeking a senior engineering leader to run the Spend domain, owning technical strategy and the architectural roadmap for corporate cards, expense management, and spend workflows. Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in software engineering with 5+ years in engineering leadership.
- Experience managing managers or engineering leads and scaling high-performing teams.
- Strong product thinking and ability to partner with Product Management to define roadmaps and drive outcomes.
- Deep fluency in software architecture and system design for large-scale distributed systems.
- Proven ability to operate in fast-paced, high-growth environments with ownership and speed.
Responsibilities
- Lead the Expenses sub-domain, owning vision, delivery and roadmap with local product teams.
- Evolve the technical architecture across the Spend domain, guiding data engineering, AI and analytics.
- Scale the US engineering team and provide technical mentorship as squads form.
- Drive operational excellence by setting OKRs and optimizing delivery across multiple projects.
- Collaborate with Product, Design, Commercial and other US Engineering Leads to align execution with business strategy and strengthen Airwallex's US culture.
- Own the talent acquisition strategy for the domain in the San Francisco market.
