Job summary

Airwallex is seeking a senior engineering leader to head the Spend domain in the US, based in San Francisco. You will own technical strategy, architecture, and delivery across corporate cards, expense management, and spend workflows.

You will partner with Product, Design, and Commercial teams to translate business goals into scalable technical solutions while growing a high-performing SF engineering organization focused on agentic finance and automation.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software engineering experience with 5+ years in leadership.
• Experience managing managers or engineering leads and scaling teams.
• Strong product thinking and roadmapping with business outcomes.
• Deep fluency in architecture and large-scale distributed systems.
• Experience in fast-paced, high-growth environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Expenses sub-domain with vision, delivery and roadmap.
• Evolve technical architecture across the Spend domain with data & AI focus.
• Scale the US engineering team and mentor new squads.
• Set OKRs, improve delivery processes and ensure quality.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, Commercial and US leads.
• Own the talent acquisition strategy for your domain in SF.
