Papillion La Vista Community Schools is seeking a Director of Special Services to provide districtwide leadership, direction, and oversight of special education programs and services to ensure students with disabilities receive high-quality educational opportunities and appropriate support.

The role leads development, implementation, evaluation, and continuous improvement of programs in compliance with IDEA, Nebraska laws, and district policies.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or higher in Special Education or Educational Administration.
• Nebraska Administrative Certificate.
• Minimum of five years of successful experience in special education with leadership/administrative roles.
• Knowledge of IDEA, Nebraska Rule 51, and related laws and practices.
• Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Responsabilités

• Provide districtwide leadership for development, implementation, evaluation, and continuous improvement of special education programs.
• Ensure compliance with IDEA, Rule 51, and other laws; monitor updates and implement changes.
• Oversee IEP design and delivery of specially designed instruction and related services in the least restrictive environment.
• Lead specialized programs for students with complex needs and supervise Special Services staff.
• Collaborate with district leadership on staffing, service delivery models, and program evaluation.
• Coordinate and support district response to complaints, mediation, due process, and regulatory matters.
• Develop, administer, and monitor the annual Special Services budget and reporting.
