Job summary

HCU is seeking a Director of Special Accounts & Collections in Caldwell, Idaho. The role directs daily operations of the collections department and fraud recovery, supervising staff and coordinating with attorneys and agencies to maximize recoveries.

The position emphasizes strict regulatory compliance (FDCPA, FCRA, SCRA) and development of best practices, with potential travel to other branches as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in business, banking or related field with minimum 5 years of relevant collections leadership experience.
• In lieu of degree, 10 years of senior financial institution collections management experience accepted.
• Strong knowledge of FDCPA, FCRA, SCRA, Bankruptcy Law and related regulations.
• Experience working with attorneys, collection agencies and court actions.
• Certifications in Collections preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Direct and manage daily operations of the collections department and fraud recovery.
• Supervise multiple staff and manage vendor relationships, agencies, and attorneys.
• Develop and implement collections/recovery goals and compliance programs.
• Prepare and review daily/weekly/monthly/annual reports with leadership recommendations.
• Ensure adherence to all Federal and State collection laws and regulations.
• Travel to other branch offices as needed.
