Maersk is seeking a Head of Solution Design & Bid Management for its Project Logistics division in Greater China. This role focuses on leading bid responses, optimizing processes, and enhancing proposal competitiveness. Position The MPL Head of Solution Design & Bid Management (GCA) is responsible for ensuring that high-quality, timely, and competitive responses are submitted for bid requests pursued by Maersk Project Logistics in the Greater China Area.
Role Description:
· Team Leadership & Development : Lead and develop the Solution Design and Bid Management teams by fostering a high-performance culture. Ensure all team members possess the necessary skills, knowledge, and motivation to consistently deliver on agreed objectives.Provide coaching, mentoring, and professional development opportunities to support individual growth and team capability.
· Bid & Proposal Management: Conduct thorough analysis of Requests for Quotation (RFQs) and tender documents to ensure all technical, commercial, and operational requirements are fully understood and addressed in the response strategy. Review and interpret contractual terms and conditions to identify potential risks, obligations, and opportunities for negotiation. Take ownership of delivering high-quality, compelling, and compliant bid responses that align with customer expectations and company standards.
· Process Optimization & Standardization: Contribute to the creation and continuous improvement of bid templates, tools, and knowledge repositories to enhance efficiency and consistency across submissions. Drive the standardization of bid management processes to streamline workflows and reduce turnaround times.
· Project & Time Management: Maintain oversight of bid timelines, ensuring all milestones and deadlines are met through effective planning, coordination, and communication. Demonstrate strong organizational skills and attention to detail in managing multiple concurrent bids and priorities.
· Innovation & Competitiveness: Continuously seek innovative and cost-effective solutions to enhance the competitiveness of proposals and increase win rates.Gather and analyze pricing data and market intelligence to inform bid strategies and value propositions.
· Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders including Growth Enablement, Procurement, QHSE, and Operations teams across both local and global MPL networks. Engage with counterparts in other regions to share best practices, lessons learned, and drive alignment on global standards.
· Customer Interaction & Negotiation: Participate in customer presentations, clarification meetings, and contract negotiations as required to support business development efforts and secure new opportunities.
· Performance Review & Continuous Improvement: Contribute to post-bid reviews, including analysis of lost opportunities and lessons learned, to drive continuous improvement in bid quality and strategy.Regularly review Salesforce (SFDC) opportunities to ensure accurate tracking and reporting of bid activities.
