Job summary

Senior Health Care Facility seeks a compassionate Director of Social Services to lead the social services team for residents. You will plan, organize, develop, and direct social services to meet resident needs with a focus on exceptional senior care.

Requirements include a bachelor’s in social work; a master’s is preferred. Strong English proficiency and the ability to collaborate with families, staff, and external parties are essential to success.

Qualifications

• Must possess a bachelor’s in social work from an approved school of social work.
• A master's in social work is preferred.
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
• Must possess the ability to make independent decisions and deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, and the public.
• Must have patience, tact, cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm in handling residents.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and monitor resident care conferences.
• Work with residents, responsible parties, and families on placement adjustments and crisis situations.
• Protect residents’ health information according to Privacy Practices policies.
• Complete comprehensive documentation in a timely manner.
• Advocate to coordinate personal needs and utilize community resources.
• Support staff in relation to resident-related issues.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
