Job summary
Sign Expo is seeking a Director of Shop Operations to lead fabrication, production, and installation, managing a team of 5-6 and ensuring quality, efficiency, and on-time delivery. You will drive process improvements, oversee site surveys, and coordinate materials and logistics for all projects.
The role requires hands-on leadership with deep signage expertise and strong organizational discipline to keep a busy shop floor running under tight deadlines while collaborating with design and project
Qualifications
- Minimum 7 years of experience in sign fabrication, production, and/or installation.
- Experience supervising or leading a team.
- Strong hands-on knowledge of sign fabrication methods and materials.
- Experience overseeing complex or high-profile installations.
- Ability to read architectural drawings and technical specifications.
- Familiarity with project management software (ClickUp or similar).
- Excellent communication skills across production, design, project management, and clients.
- Willingness to be on shop floor and job sites as needed.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage installers and fabricators on a daily basis.
- Oversee shop production flow from fabrication to delivery/installation.
- Ensure quality control and safety standards are met across all jobs.
- Conduct site surveys and guide installation planning and execution.
- Coordinate materials, packaging, shipping, and logistics for jobs.
