Job summary

SaxtonSign Co. seeks a Shop Foreman to lead the sign fabrication shop in New York, supervising fabricators, welders, painters, and installers to meet safety and quality standards.

You will balance hands-on shop work with supervision, coordinate production schedules, ensure equipment uptime, enforce safety protocols, and act as the main liaison between shop staff and management on daily production issues.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in sign fabrication, metal fabrication, or related trade, with prior lead or supervisory experience.
• Strong knowledge of fabrication methods and materials (aluminum, steel, acrylic, vinyl).
• Ability to read technical drawings, blueprints, and permit sets.

Responsibilities

• Plan, assign, and supervise daily work orders across fabrication, welding, painting, assembly, and installation prep.
• Read and interpret job tickets, blueprints, and permits to ensure signs meet specs and code.
• Train and evaluate shop personnel; provide hands-on guidance on fabrication techniques and safety.
