Job summary

Verse Medical, Inc. seeks a Head of Security in New York to own and execute the company’s security program. This high-ownership role combines hands-on leadership with cross-functional collaboration to protect patient data and support compliance with SOC 2 and HITRUST.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in security or information security, with ownership of a security program at a startup or growth-stage company.
• Experience running security operations: risk assessments, audits, access reviews, and incident response.
• Working knowledge of HIPAA, HITRUST, and/or SOC 2 controls.

Responsibilities

• Own our security program and act as the senior security voice advising leadership on risk posture.
• Identify gaps and execute a roadmap to improve security posture.
• Run core security procedures: risk assessments, audits, access reviews, incident response.
• Collaborate with MSP and engineering/business to enhance security.
• Support and help run portions of our compliance program (SOC 2, HITRUST).
• Build a small security team over time, starting hands-on.
