Job summary

Axiom in South San Francisco seeks an Operations Manager to own the delivery of scientific data programs, translating research and customer requirements into clear plans, milestones, quality standards, budgets, and deliverables.

You will coordinate data generation across internal teams and partner labs, manage sourcing, inventory, shipping, and data integrity while building scalable processes with dashboards and SOPs to support AI training workflows.

Qualifications

• End-to-end ownership of complex programs across multiple teams and external partners.
• Strong attention to data integrity and process discipline.
• Proficient in data analysis and problem solving with SQL or Python.
• Track record building scalable processes and workflows.
• Ability to translate scientific requirements into concrete specs.
• Excellent partner management and communication under pressure.
• Comfort with ambiguity and shifting priorities in fast-paced settings.
• Curiosity about biology, chemistry, drug discovery, and AI.

Responsibilities

• Own operational delivery of data programs with clear plans, milestones, quality standards, budgets, and deliverables.
• Coordinate data generation across internal teams and partner laboratories, managing capacity, dependencies, timelines, and handoffs.
• Manage compound sourcing, purchasing, sample manifests, inventory, international shipping, and customs documentation.
• Build and manage laboratory and supplier partnerships with clear specifications and acceptance criteria.
• Protect data integrity by reconciling identities, barcodes, metadata, and results, resolving discrepancies before use.
• Build scalable operating systems with trackers, dashboards, SOPs, alerts, and AI agents to automate coordination.
• Keep pharmaceutical customers, AI research partners, laboratories, and internal teams aligned through clear communication and escalation.
• Manage SOWs, purchase orders, invoices, and budgets, tracking spending against progress and identifying cost improvements.
• Measure throughput, data quality, and delivery reliability to strengthen operations behind drug discovery and AI training workflows.
