Job summary

Safran Defense & Space, Inc. in the United States seeks a Director of ROIC Design to lead Attollo's read-out integrated circuit (ROIC) design organization.

This working leadership role combines staffing, development, execution, schedule, and budget with technical depth to review architectures and make informed engineering trade calls. Collaborate with VP IC Design to shape long-term ROIC technology visions and deliver qualified silicon for SWIR/MWIR lines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related field.
• 12+ years in analog/mixed-signal CMOS IC design with 5+ years in ROIC for imaging/sensing.
• Ownership of ROIC designs through tape-out and successful silicon bring-up.
• 3+ years of direct people-management experience leading an IC design team.
• Deep knowledge of ROIC unit-cell architectures and detector-interface for infrared FPAs.
• Proficiency with a full custom analog/mixed-signal design flow and HDL (Verilog).
• Ability to obtain and maintain a US DoD Secret Security Clearance; US Citizenship required.
• Experience in ITAR aerospace environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the ROIC design team, including hiring, performance, and growth.
• Own ROIC design execution, schedules, budgets, and delivery from architecture through tape-out.
• Establish design reviews, verification standards, and tape-out readiness processes.
• Partner with senior IC leadership on ROIC technology strategy and multi-year roadmaps.
• Provide hands-on technical leadership in CMOS mixed-signal ROIC design and laser sensing applications.
• Drive signal-chain, noise, ADC, and high-bandwidth ROIC architecture decisions.
• Ensure designs meet performance, manufacturability, test, and environmental requirements.
• Collaborate with detector, packaging, test, process, and systems teams.
• Support customer reviews, proposals, and new technology initiatives.
