Job summary

Raydar is seeking a hands-on technical leader to head the robotics software and firmware organization. You will own the stack from embedded firmware through planning and teleoperation, guiding 5–10 engineers today and scaling to ~15.

You will lead architecture for real-time control loops, sensor interfaces, safety systems, and onboard compute. Requires 8+ years in robotics across firmware/embedded systems, with RTOS, C/C++, ROS expertise, and hands-on leadership.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in robotics engineering across firmware, controls and embedded systems.
• MS or PhD in Robotics, EE, ME, CS, or related field.
• Led at least five engineers.
• Expertise in RTOS, C/C++, ROS, real-time controls, teleoperation.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow robotics software/firmware engineers, 5–10 today, expanding to ~15.
• Own architecture for real-time control loops, sensor interfaces, safety systems & onboard compute.
• Write and review production code and guide architectural decisions.
