Job summary

Appsierra Group seeks a senior leader to define the research direction for robotics data, embodied AI, and robot learning. You will own the data strategy, scale datasets, and drive evaluation while guiding a team across robotics, perception, ML, and embodied AI.

You will set the research vision, mentor researchers, and stay hands-on through experimentation and evaluation of new approaches. This remote role targets leadership in a data-driven robotics program.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in robotics research, embodied AI, robot learning, or robotics software engineering.
• Experience leading or mentoring high-performing research or technical teams.
• Deep knowledge of robotics data pipelines, multimodal datasets, and data infrastructure for robot learning.
• Strong expertise in robot perception, manipulation, control, imitation learning, RL, or robotics foundation models.
• Experience designing, building, or evaluating large-scale robotics datasets and data-collection strategies.
• Track record connecting research with practical engineering systems.
• Strong experimental and analytical capabilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work across multidisciplinary technical teams.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute the research strategy for robotics data, embodied AI, and robot learning.
• Lead research across robotics datasets, multimodal representations, perception, manipulation, and data-centric learning.
• Develop data collection methods including teleoperation, human demonstrations, simulation, and real-world deployments.
• Establish scalable benchmarks and evaluation frameworks for robot-learning performance.
• Bridge research with production-grade robotics data systems.
• Mentor and grow a high-performing Robotics Research team.
