Job summary

HCL Technologies Limited seeks a senior leader to establish and run the company's Responsible AI framework, ensuring every AI/agentic/Physical AI system is safe, compliant, transparent, and trusted across workers, customers, and regulators.

You will own risk governance, set guardrails, chair the Ethics Review function, and drive accountability for model and agent risk management while enabling rapid, safe deployment in a manufacturing context.

Qualifications

• 15+ years in AI/ML governance, risk, safety, compliance, or a closely related discipline.
• Demonstrated experience building and running a governance, risk, or assurance framework in regulated, safety-sensitive, or industrial environments.
• Strong working knowledge of AI / ML and generative / agentic systems — able to credibly challenge technical teams on bias, robustness, security, and oversight.
• Command of the AI risk and standards landscape (NIST AI RMF, ISO/IEC 42001, model-risk-management practices).
• Track record influencing executives and operating leaders and embedding controls without blocking delivery.
• Understanding of manufacturing operations and industrial safety sufficient to govern Physical AI responsibly.

Responsibilities

• Lead and own the Responsible AI governance framework, policy, and standards for the enterprise.
• Establish and chair the AI Governance / Ethics Review function with defined cadence, risk-tiering, approvals, and escalation.
• Define risk management for models and agents, including documentation, validation, and drift monitoring.
• Set accountability for agentic workflows, determine human-in-the-loop requirements, and ensure logs and reversibility.
• Partner with safety, engineering, security, and legal to align AI systems with functional-safety and regulatory expectations.
• Prepare for audits and provide assurance of the AI program to leadership and regulators.
