Job summary

The Claremont Colleges Library, part of The Claremont Colleges Services, seeks a Head of Research Services to supervise Subject Librarians and coordinate research support and collection development. You will lead the division, collaborate with HILSE and other leaders, and drive user-centered services and Open Educational Resources initiatives.

Qualifications

• MLIS from an ALA-accredited program or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Three years of professional experience in an academic library with increasing responsibility.
• One year of experience supervising staff, including training and performance management.
• Experience supporting one or more subject areas in an academic library.
• Experience with teaching and assessing student learning.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate research support services and reference models.
• Develop training and documentation for tiered reference services.
• Advance scholarly communications outreach and Open Educational Resources (OERs).
• Promote public-facing information sharing on copyright and open access.
• Support digital scholarship topics like AI, data services, and primary sources literacy.
• Collaborate with colleagues to assess and improve research support services.
