Job summary

Dartmouth College seeks a Head of Research and Learning for the Arts & Humanities to provide strategic leadership of liaison librarians and advance research, teaching, and learning initiatives across the School of Arts & Sciences. This onsite role partners with departments and campus centers to shape library services and assess impact on student success.

The position requires a MLS/MLIS, 6+ years of relevant experience, and strong supervisory and change-management skills in an academic library

Qualifications

• ALA-accredited MLS/MLIS (or equivalent) required.
• 3+ years supervising staff, chairing committees, and leading projects.
• Proven leadership, management, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to foster change in a diverse academic library environment.
• Experience in arts/humanities research services and collection development.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for liaison librarians serving arts and humanities.
• Collaborate with departments and campus partners to advance research, teaching, and learning initiatives.
• Lead assessment efforts to inform collections, programming, and services.
• Recruit, supervise, and mentor a diverse staff; support professional development.
• Engage with faculty and students to integrate library programs into the curriculum.
