Job summary

Augustwilmington is seeking a Director of Quality Assurance & Staff Development to lead the facility’s QAA/QAPI program and oversee staff education. This leadership role focuses on regulatory compliance, survey readiness, risk reduction, and continuous improvement across departments.

The ideal candidate is analytical, organized, and committed to building strong systems and well-trained teams to drive measurable improvements in care outcomes.

Qualifications

• Licensed RN preferred or equivalent healthcare leadership experience.
• Prior quality assurance, staff development, or regulatory experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of long-term care regulations and survey processes.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and documentation skills.
• Ability to lead committees, training programs, and performance improvement initiatives.
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, and direct the facility’s Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) program.
• Chair and lead the Quality Assessment & Assurance Committee.
• Track, analyze, and trend quality indicators, audits, incidents, and outcomes; develop and implement corrective action plans for identified deficiencies.
• Support survey readiness, surveys, and plans of correction.
• Coordinate and oversee staff education, orientation, and ongoing in-service training.
• Maintain training records and compliance documentation.
• Partner with leadership to identify risk areas and improvement opportunities.
• Assist with policy review, regulatory updates, and compliance monitoring.
• Participate in facility surveys, audits, and inspections.
• Prepare and present written and verbal quality reports to Administration.
