Job summary

Virginia G. Piper Charitable Trust seeks a visionary Vice President of Programs to lead a five-person team in managing grants and strategic initiatives across Maricopa County. Reporting to the President and CEO, you will drive program architecture and align priorities with partners serving the community.

You will guide grantee programs, foster cross-sector relationships, and provide strategic support, coaching staff, and a learning-driven approach to improve outcomes and impact.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree required.
• Minimum ten years of leadership experience in philanthropy/nonprofit/public sectors, including grantmaking.
• Experience presenting to a Board, mentoring staff, and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Manage partnerships and initiatives and design/implement programs.
• Guide development and continuous improvement of Piper Trust grantee programs.
• Build long-term cross-sector relationships to sustain impact.
• Provide strategic, inspirational support to grantees.
• Coach and retain high-performance team members and foster learning.
• Assist the strategic learning officer with evaluation design and learning.
• Leverage outcomes for community impact and stay informed on trends in philanthropy.
• Collaborate with grants management and communications to report learnings.
