Cause Strategy Partners seeks a Product & Portfolio Director to own CSP’s technology strategy, roadmap, and portfolio, partnering with the CEO and leadership to guide a small, remote-first team. This senior role combines product management, portfolio planning, and release governance to ensure impactful, well-planned technology work that aligns with CSP’s mission.

Qualifications

• Significant experience (typically five or more years) in product management, program or portfolio management.
• Experience owning a platform or CRM as a product, including its roadmap, backlog, technical debt, and adoption.
• Strong business analysis skills: discovery, writing clear requirements and acceptance criteria, refining backlogs, agile process.
• Disciplined prioritizer balancing capacity and tradeoffs.
• Exceptional communicator able to explain a technical tradeoff to a non-technical executive and a business priority to a developer.
• Hands-on with Jira, HubSpot, and AI tools applied to requirements, analysis, and documentation.
• Hands-on operator in a small, distributed, remote-first organization.
• Nonprofit governance experience is strongly desired.
• Creative and open team player; knowledge sharing as a leadership behavior.
• Familiar with BI tools like Power BI or Tableau and Zapier; understands databases.
• SQL is a plus

Responsibilities

• Own the technology portfolio end to end, spanning all products, strategic initiatives, operational support, technical debt, and infrastructure investments.
• Establish and run a single intake process so all technology work is visible before priorities are set.
• Partner with the CEO and leadership team to continuously prioritize work by customer value, business impact, risk, and capacity.
• Maintain a single portfolio view for leadership to understand commitments, priorities, capacity, and risk.
• Develop a realistic sense of how much the team can take on and manage work in progress.
• Treat documentation and knowledge sharing as portfolio work; sequence documentation and technical debt.
• Own product roadmaps across CSP’s product suite, with BoardLead at the center.
• Lead HubSpot internal platform roadmap and integrations, with changes prioritized alongside product work.
• Lead discovery and validation for new product ideas with a strong business case.
• Coordinate release planning and adoption and ensure proper documentation.
• Collaborate with leadership to translate business needs into engineering direction.
• Apply build-versus-buy discipline and group related enhancements into cohesive releases.
• Embed continuous improvement in planning, delivery metrics, and reduce rework.
• Represent the product and portfolio function in leadership meetings and decisions.
