Job summary

Day & Zimmermann Company seeks a Department Manager, Process & Mechanical to lead the Piping Department of engineers and designers. You will guide project delivery, ensure code compliance, manage resources and budgets, and champion safety and continuous improvement.

You will coordinate with cross-functional teams and clients to meet project goals, develop staffing plans, and mentor staff while driving departmental performance and growth across EPCm and chemical processing sectors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering; PE licensure is mandatory.
• 15+ years in EPCm or related chemical processing industries.
• Experience with 3D modeling software (Autodesk Plant 3D) and Caesar II is desirable.
• Strong communication and leadership skills; safety minded.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Piping Department and guide engineers and designers.
• Ensure compliance with codes, standards, and safety requirements.
• Develop staffing plans, manage budgets, and drive productivity.
• Mentor staff and conduct performance evaluations.
• Manage cost, schedule, and quality across projects.
• Collaborate with senior management for strategic plans.
• Drive process improvements and innovative engineering methods.
