Job summary

SHL Medical in North Charleston, SC, seeks a Head of Operations Engineering to lead the Global Industrialization site's Operations Engineering group at a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility. You will drive manufacturing excellence strategies, partner with Production, Supply Chain, Quality and Development to resolve complex issues, and build a high-performing team of manufacturing experts.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering, Science or similar.
• 10+ years of medical device development, engineering and/or manufacturing.
• 5+ years of management experience.
• Knowledge of injection molding, metal forming, automated assembly and packaging.
• Regulatory knowledge for medical device development/manufacture.
• Digitalization and automation experience.
• Process and/or equipment qualification and validation experience.
• Experience with complex problem-solving and RCA methods.
• Organized with deadlines and project management.
• Proven track record leading skilled teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of a detailed manufacturing excellence strategy for the site.
• Collaborate with Production, Supply Chain, Quality and Development leadership to deliver operational results and resolve complex technical issues.
• Lead a local team of manufacturing experts and develop resources to meet business needs.
• Provide technical support and coordination of equipment and process design, development, build, installation, validation and sustaining to world class OE&E.
• Oversee automated manufacturing activities and CAPEX programs.
• Work with R&D on new product introductions and advanced manufacturing processes.
• Identify efficiency improvements and CAPEX opportunities to support growth.
• Mentor across functions and ensure delivery aligned with strategic goals.
