Job summary
Amazon OpenSearch Core Foundation team is hiring a Software Development Manager to lead a senior engineering group focused on indexing systems that power OpenSearch Managed Service and Serverless offerings. You will drive technical vision, roadmap execution, and cross-region indexing strategy, while delivering high performance and reliability.
You will mentor engineers, partner with product managers, and advocate for operational excellence, scalability, and innovation across OpenSearch
Qualifications
- 3+ years of management experience leading engineering teams.
- 7+ years of hands-on software engineering and system design experience.
- 3+ years designing or architecting scalable, multi-tier web services.
Responsibilities
- Lead and grow OpenSearch Core Foundation indexing systems team.
- Define technical roadmaps balancing customer needs with long-term investments.
- Drive architecture decisions for large-scale distributed indexing and replication.
- Partner with product and business stakeholders to translate requirements into priorities.
- Establish operational excellence for availability, latency, and durability.
- Recruit, develop, and retain top engineering talent.
