Job summary

Oklo is seeking a Head of Manufacturing to lead strategy across design, prototype, and manufacturing of nuclear reactor components, ensuring compliance with NRC/IAEA standards while driving safety, quality, and cost improvements.

The role is remote with ~25% travel to Santa Clara HQ and sites, reporting to the COO, and focusing on coaching teams, cross-functional collaboration, and scalable process improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, or related field.
• 10+ years in design, prototyping and manufacturing operations, with at least 3 years in leadership or excellence-focused role.
• Proficiency in CAD design tools.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Willingness to travel for site visits, audits, or team collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy to achieve KPIs such as quality, delivery, cost, and safety.
• Lead process improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and address root causes of inefficiencies.
• Promote best practices and regulatory compliance across sites, including radiation protection and handling.
• Coach design and manufacturing teams, production managers, and cross-functional stakeholders in autonomous operations.
• Ensure adherence to nuclear safety culture and EHS standards.
• Collaborate with senior leadership to set targets and report progress, including cost savings.
• Support knowledge transfer through platforms and training for global teams.
• Manage project portfolios, budgets, and timelines for excellence initiatives.
