Ultralife Corporation is seeking an experienced leader to manage the New Product Development department in Newark. You will lead multidisciplinary engineers and project managers, guiding the full product lifecycle from concept to production and aligning with key internal and external stakeholders.

The ideal candidate brings strong leadership, hands-on engineering expertise, and proven program management skill, with a drive to deliver results in a fast-paced environment. Travel is periodic.

Competenze

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Science, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in Engineering Management at a leadership level.
• Preferred background in power systems, batteries, power supplies, or charging systems.
• Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and firmware/software design processes.
• Experience in the medical device industry is a plus.
• ISO 13485 and ISO 9001 familiarity; IEC/UL/CE/TSO/Military standard familiarity.

• Oversee day-to-day management of the NPD department and guide cross-functional engineering teams.
• Drive end-to-end product development from concept through production release.
• Own budgeting, cost tracking, and monthly program reviews for the department.
• Collaborate with sales, operations, and exec leadership on strategic roadmaps.
• Develop proposals, reports, and maintain strong customer relationships.
• Hire, train, and mentor staff to build a high-performing team.
• Ensure compliance with ISO processes and drive continuous improvement.
