Illumina seeks a Director of Multiomics Bioinformatics to shape strategy across its multiomics portfolio. You will lead a team of scientists and engineers, guiding programs from concept to commercial launch and coordinating with cross-functional partners on roadmaps and investments.

The role calls for a PhD with extensive leadership in bioinformatics, strong expertise in NGS and multiomics, and experience delivering customer-facing software and AI-enabled workflows.

Qualifications

• PhD in Bioinformatics or related field; 10+ years preferred.
• Proven leadership of complex bioinformatics programs.
• Experience delivering customer-facing software or informatics products.
• Experience leading cross-functional product development initiatives.
• Strong understanding of NGS and multiomics technologies.
• Experience with cloud-scale informatics platforms and AI/ML technologies.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive bioinformatics strategy across Illumina's multiomics portfolio, including single cell, spatial biology, proteomics, epigenomics, and emerging multiomics technologies
• Establish the long-term vision for customer-facing informatics experiences and end-to-end product workflows
• Drive innovation in analysis methods, AI-enabled workflows, and next-generation multiomics capabilities
• Lead, develop, and grow a team of bioinformatics scientists and engineers, and lead programs from concept through commercial launch
• Represent Bioinformatics and partner cross-functionally to develop technology roadmaps and investment priorities
