Job summary

The Catholic-Diocese-of-Arlingto seeks a Director of the Office of Multicultural Ministries to oversee outreach to diverse communities within the Diocese. You will respond to issues as they develop and serve as a resource for all cultures, coordinating events, budgets, and staff.

The role requires strong leadership, strategic planning, and the ability to work with priests, parishes, and diocesan offices to advance unity and diversity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field required.
• Experience with budgeting and program development.
• Five years’ ministry experience in diocesan settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Engage ethnic communities to support identity within the Diocese and connect to parish opportunities.
• Plan and execute events and lead liturgical celebrations sponsored by the Office.
• Collaborate with ethnic groups to develop programs, resources and projects.
• Coordinate with other diocesan offices on new multicultural initiatives.
• Communicate with priests to promote diverse cultures’ devotions and traditions.
• Lead meetings for the Advisory Council on Racism and Multicultural Ministry Council.
• Maintain the Office’s presence on the diocesan website and public outreach.
• Travel to parishes throughout the diocese; occasional travel outside.
