Job summary

The Catholic Center (Diocese of Richmond) seeks a Director of Ethnic Ministries to oversee pastoral and community support for Hispanic, Asian/Pacific Islander, and Native American communities. You will promote intercultural unity, collaborate with parishes and diocesan offices, and lead programs that celebrate faith and culture across the diocese.

Requirements include a Master’s degree (preferred) and fluency in Spanish and English, with strong leadership, planning and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree preferred and experience in human services.
• Capable generalist in Asian/Pacific Islanders and Native American ministries; specialist in Hispanic culture/ministries.
• Leadership in community organizing, volunteer management, planning and administration.
• Strong written and verbal communication; fluent in Spanish and English.
• A practicing Catholic in good standing with solid understanding of Church teaching.

Responsibilities

• Provide pastoral, sacramental, devotional, linguistic, cultural and communal support to ethnic groups within the diocese.
• Foster intercultural diversity and unity within parishes and diocesan offices.
• Coordinate celebrations of feast days and recognize contributions of ethnic communities.
• Collaborate with parishes, diocesan leadership and other offices; serve on the Bishop’s Cabinet.
• Manage programs, volunteers and meetings with diverse groups; travel as required.
