Job summary

SB Energy is seeking a senior procurement engineering manager to lead the mechanical and thermal team for owner-furnished, contractor-installed cooling equipment for AI data centers. You will own the product roadmap, BOD, and equipment acceptance, coordinating with Electrical on power interfaces and ensuring reliable, cost-effective cooling solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline; master’s or PE is a plus.
• 12+ years in mechanical equipment engineering, thermal systems, or OEM engineering for mission-critical cooling in data centers.
• Proven leadership, hiring, and team-building experience across complex cooling portfolios.
• Extensive experience with OEMs, supplier design reviews, and performance testing.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical and thermal technical decisions from day one.
• Coach and manage direct reports to establish ownership across cooling portfolios.
• Own specifications, Basis of Design, and thermal/hydraulic interfaces for cooling equipment.
• Define the cooling product roadmap, capacity, efficiency, and technology evaluation.
• Enable multi-sourcing and vendor-neutral specifications; approve alternate products.
