Job summary

The Osborn Engineering Company seeks a Director of Mechanical Engineering for our Florida Division. This role leads a seasoned mechanical team on diverse public and private projects across our Florida offices, guiding design, client interviews, and cross-disciplinary collaboration.

The ideal candidate has extensive HVAC and plumbing expertise and a proven leadership track record. Based in Florida, the director will recruit and mentor staff, liaise with owners and authorities, and ensure QA/QC

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering required.
• Professional Engineering license required.
• 15+ years of Mechanical design experience.
• Strong leadership capabilities.
• Broad HVAC and Plumbing design experience for various building types.
• Experience leading design teams and working on multiple projects concurrently.
• Excellent communication and analytical skills.
• Strong work ethic and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Lead design of public and private development projects.
• Recruit and build a strong engineering team.
• Market mechanical engineering capabilities to clients.
• Represent the firm in project and client interviews.
• Work on a diverse set of projects with cross-functional teams.
• Interact with facility owners and other professionals.
• Attend client meetings and reviews of designs.
• Oversee QA/QC of designs and ensure project standards.
