Job summary

TransMedics is seeking a Sr. Director of Manufacturing Engineering to lead Advanced Operations, Sustaining Engineering, and Manufacturing Engineering. The role drives transformation across processes, systems, and infrastructure while staying close to the floor to unblock launches and improve quality.

The leader will build a high-performing team, attract top engineering talent, and partner cross-functionally with R&D, Quality, and Supply Chain to scale operations as the company grows in the U.S.

Qualifications

• Minimum 15+ years engineering leadership experience in medical devices or regulated manufacturing.
• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Biomedical, Mechanical, Electrical, or equivalent) required.
• MBA preferred or beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Lead Manufacturing Engineering organization including Advanced Operations, Sustaining Engineering, Manufacturing (Process) Engineering, and Technical Field Service.
• Drive step-change transformation of practices, systems, and infrastructure to enable company growth.
• Ensure world-class product quality and manufacturing performance.
• Oversee design for excellence (DfX/DFM) and component simplification.
• Develop and scale a high-performing engineering team and culture of excellence.
