Job summary

Great Hearts Louisiana - Harveston seeks a Head of Lower School to shape a robust, joy-filled learning community grounded in liberal arts and the Great Hearts philosophy. You will lead teachers, coaches, and staff to advance student growth and character formation within a tuition-free public charter setting.

You will work closely with the Executive Director - Louisiana to set goals, manage budgets, and steward enrollment while upholding rigorous instruction and a culture of respect.

Qualifications

• A degree from an accredited university.
• Experience leading school teams and instructional programs.
• Three to five years of instructional leadership, including two years in administration.
• Experience working in urban or under-served communities.

Responsibilities

• Set quantitative and qualitative goals in collaboration with the Executive Director.
• Plan, delegate, and execute to meet goals.
• Build a varied leadership team to promote school goals and culture.
• Manage and evaluate the lower school leadership team.
• Ensure school is supported by home-office service departments.
• Oversee budgeting and enrollment processes.
• Establish trust with students, parents, and colleagues.
• Observe and coach teachers per network expectations.
• Interview and hire staff in line with budgets.
• Ensure safety policies and discipline procedures are implemented fairly.
• Foster instructional planning and a culture of achievement.
• Engage families through regular communication.
