Job summary

Nexstar Media Group is seeking a Production Director to lead the planning, management, and production of local news programming. The role involves researching ideas, scripting, interviewing, and supervising talent, with hands-on duties as editor or shooter as needed.

The successful candidate will oversee post-production, studio upkeep, and the creative aspects of graphics and on-air presentation, while shaping editorial decisions for broadcasts.

Qualifications

• BA or BS degree in Communications or Mass Communications with emphasis on Television Production or related experience.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, ability to work with diverse teams.
• Creativity and editorial judgment in planning and producing local news programs.

Responsibilities

• Research, plan, manage and produce local news programming.
• Plan and develop local news programs, write scripts, conduct interviews, manage talent.
• Oversee post-production, edit videotape and organize documentation.
• Provide training and direction to the production staff.
• Assist in repair and upkeep of studio and production sets and properties.
• Contribute to graphics, titles, music and visual look of shows; make editorial decisions.
