The Council on Foreign Relations seeks an Associate Director to lead the Local Journalists Initiative, shaping programming, events, and outreach across the United States. You will supervise one staffer, manage contracts, budgets, and collaborate with Global Communications on local media strategy.

Based in CFR’s New York office, you will coordinate webinars, workshops, and partnerships, while expanding CFR’s media presence and building relationships with local journalists and stakeholders.

Qualificações

• BA in international relations, journalism, or related field; MA preferred.
• Five or more years in outreach, partnerships, international relations, government, or community engagement.
• Nuanced understanding of the journalism landscape across the country at a local level.

Responsabilidades

• Lead the CFR Local Journalists Initiative and its program offerings (webinars, briefings, workshops).
• Frame event agendas and generate speaker/topic ideas for events.
• Schedule and implement events, manage contracts and catering; draft and manage correspondence.
• Oversee day-to-day workflow for the initiative and supervise one staffer.
• Monitor, report, and advise on the budget.
• Collaborate on program strategy with senior staff and Global Communications.
• Develop a nationwide map of local media targets and identify partnerships.
• Grow CFR’s Outreach community by building relationships with local journalists.
• Oversee bi-monthly newsletter for journalists and manage communications materials.
