Cobb EMC is hiring a Manager, Line Construction and Forestry in Marietta, GA to lead the installation and maintenance of distribution lines, manage right-of-way clearance, and ensure clear communications between field and office teams.

The role oversees distribution construction, forestry, electrical facility operation, and supervision, with a focus on safety, efficiency, and budget adherence. Strong leadership, planning, and regulatory knowledge are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum ten years' experience in electric utility line work, including five years' leading electric utility line crews.
• Minimum six months as a Line Superintendent.
• Specialized training in live-line work, distribution line construction, and applied electricity.
• Knowledge of line feed system locations and interpretation of system maps.
• Knowledge of SCADA system, distribution lines, substation locations, and load management systems and equipment.
• Thorough knowledge of GUFPA regulations and NPDES Control.
• Demonstrated expertise with underground and overhead installation, maintenance methods and procedures.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated decision-making skills.
• Excellent decision-making and interpersonal skills.
• Proven planning and organizational skills.
• Possess a valid Georgia driver's license.
• Possess an Integrated Transmission System (ITS).
• Preferred: Vocational/technical diploma in electrical/electronic technology, engineering, or related field.

Responsabilités

• Ensure projects are completed within time frames and budget.
• Resolve routine maintenance problems daily.
• Annually review storm procedures and revise as needed.
• Schedule training for new electrical equipment installation and operation.
• Ensure proper installation of transformers, breakers, and other equipment.
• Direct crews in trimming and clearing right-of-way.
• Provide best equipment within budget and maintain peak efficiency.
• Inspect crews' work daily and coordinate bid projects and contracts.
• Prepare and submit monthly/weekly/annual reports and budgets.
