Scrunch, a venture-backed startup focused on AI-driven marketing, is seeking a strategic Head of Legal to build and lead its legal function in Ashburn, VA with hybrid options. The role will oversee commercial contracting (SaaS, NDAs, DPAs), regulatory compliance (GDPR, CCPA), corporate governance and fundraising support.

As the company’s sole internal counsel, you will balance high-level strategy with hands-on execution, advise executive leadership, and foster scalable processes as Scrunch

Qualifications

• 8-12+ years of legal experience, including mix of law firm and in-house roles at high-growth tech/SaaS companies.
• JD degree and admission to practice in a relevant jurisdiction.
• Experience with SaaS products, data privacy and tech contracts.

Responsibilities

• Oversee commercial contracting (SaaS, NDAs, DPAs).
• Lead regulatory compliance (GDPR, CCPA).
• Manage corporate governance and fundraising support.
• Provide employment law guidance and risk assessment.
• Serve as the company’s sole internal counsel, balancing strategy with hands-on execution.
